The Khajiit are an ancient cat-folk race originating from Elsweyr province in the Elder Scrolls universe. Early Khajiit history is recorded in the 'Silk Road Tales,' describing how they evolved from forest dwellers into a complex merchant society. During the First Era, Khajiit established several kingdoms including Anequina and Pellitine, engaging in moon sugar trade and cultural exchange with other Tamriel races, laying foundations for the naming traditions players encounter in Elder Scrolls games.
